The Lawton Food Bank was founded in 1985 by Carter and Marilyn Crane, who recognized a growing need in the community that was not being met. With compassion and determination, the Crane family rallied their friends, their church, other local congregations, and area businesses to help care for neighbors without stable access to food. What began in a small garage has grown into the largest food and resource center in Southwest Oklahoma! Today, the Lawton Food Bank continues to carry forward the Cranes’ vision of ensuring that every family has access to nutritious food and hope for a brighter tomorrow!
From humble beginnings to a cornerstone of community support, our story is proof of what can happen when people come together to meet a need!
